LoTRDC – Elise Trophy 2011 Finale Race Report

Lotus-on-Track have posted up their race report for the weekends Elise Trophy races at Brands Hatch, where Stuart Rowland and Ken Savage shared the race wins.

The season-ending races produced a few surprises in the form of three newcomers who were immediately on the pace. A few errors clouded otherwise excellent performances but it was no surprise that the wins came from Rowland and Savage, whilst Quick was the most consistent performer with a brace of second places.

Whilst another great year of Elise Trophy action is over, look out for the Lotus 1000km at Brands Hatch in a fortnight – last year’s race was thrilling and this year’s promises to be even better!

Autosport – Ferrari: No issue with Lotus name change

Many rumours have been doing the rounds of late suggesting name changes for both the Team Lotus and Lotus Renault GP teams, with Team Lotus looking likely to be renamed Caterham, and Lotus Renault GP taking up the Lotus moniker for their chassis to reflect their title sponsor.

Up until now it was thought however that some teams, including Ferrari, might block such a move, but according to Autosport this is not the case:

Ferrari is happy to see Team Lotus and Renault change names next year, but has made it clear it wants a framework laid out to ensure that such identity swaps do not become regular.

A meeting of the Formula 1 Commission in Geneva on November 3 will vote on whether or not Team Lotus can become Caterham, and Renault can switch to Lotus, for 2012.
