Lotus Cars – Members Only

Lotus Cars have released details today of the Lotus Club GT scheme set to be unveiled on Thursday this week at the Autosport International Show.

The club, entry to which is gained through the purchase of an Evora GT4 or Evora Enduro in club specification, aims to build links between teams running Evora race cars and the marque’s works drivers such as Johnny Mowlem and the Lotus F1 Team.

Lotus will also be discussing developments in Indycar, rallying, karting and the companies Type 125 programme, along with the rebrand of Lotus Motorsport to Lotus Racing.

Those attending the show will find Lotus at Stand 2520, along with a presentation by the company on the Autosport Stage from 12:45 on the Thursday.

Gallery – Winter Warmer 2012

The Winter Warmer was held this weekend, with over 30 cars braving a 7am start, the cold winter air and Sunday drivers to travel down from just outside Guildford to Hayling Island for a breakfast rendezvous.

LRGP – Kimi Räikkönen: “It will be nice to get back to racing”

Kimi Räikkönen paid a visit to Enstone on Thursday for a seat fitting ahead of his return to F1 next year with the Lotus Renault GP team.

The fitting marked the first time the former had sat behind the wheel of an F1 car since he left Ferrari at the end of the 2009 season.

How important is the seat fitting?
It is one of the most important jobs. You spend so much time sitting in the car so the position is really crucial, it needs to be 100% right. I’d rather spend a lot of time getting it right at this time of the year because there are many races in the season and you sit behind the wheel a lot. Getting it right the first time is imperative.

Lotus-on-Track New Years Competition

Lotus-on-Track are offering people the chance to win £250 of LoT vouchers which can be used against LoT organised UK or Euro days in 2012.

In addition the winner & TWO runner ups will receive a FREE place each at Blyton Park on Sunday 19th February. All you need to do is email the answer to the following by noon on 8th Jan, with the prize draw for the winner taking place on the LoTRDC stand at the Autosport show on the 12th Jan.

SELOC Novice Track Days for 2012 Announced

After the success of our novice track days in the past SELOC are happy to announce their 2012 dates.

Run in conjunction with Lotus-on-Track all these days have been carefully picked to cater for first time and novice track day drivers, with either plenty of large run-off areas or with novice only sessions running on the chosen days.

  • Blyton Park, Sunday 19th February, Saturday 26th May, Sunday 9th September
  • Castle Combe, Friday 13th April
  • Brands Hatch Indy, Wednesday 20th June
  • Bedford, Wednesday 27th June, Wednesday 29th August

Lotus on Track are also offering a free 12 month membership to all SELOCers who book via the SELOC payment link, a free instruction session for all first timers, and comprehensive advice for beginners. Take a look at our forum thread for more information.

Lotus Cars – Lotus Motorsport Hit Major Milestones – Video and Gallery

News from Lotus that they’re new 2012 Indycar and Rally programmes with the first fire-up of the Lotus Indycar engine at Dallara on December 22nd and a shakedown test of the new Exige R-GT on December 23rd in Turin.
