Lotus on Track ran their first Blyton Park Track Day last weekend, with over 30 cars taking to the newly redeveloped and resurfaced track to blow away the winter cobwebs.

The MY12 brochures for the full range of Lotus cars are now available on the Lotus Cars Issuu account.
The brochures are available in English, French, German and Italian and cover the MY12 Evora, Elise and Exige models – although the Exige is listed as a ‘mini-brochure’. You can find direct links to the English language brochures below.

Lotus have announced that Lotus Racing and Alex Job Racing will be working together to compete in the American Le Mans Series this year as a factory endorsed team under the Team Lotus AJR name.
The team will be running a single 2012 Lotus Evora GTE with drivers Bill Sweedler and former Indycar Rookie of the year Townsend Bell. For more details you can find the full press release below.

Following on from their troubles with the E20-02 chassis today in Barcelona the team has elected to leave the first Barcelona test after simulations back at Enstone proved that modifications were needed to both of the teams E20 chassis’s.
The team will be returning to Barcelona for the third and final pre-season test between the 1st and 4th of March.

Lotus have cut short their first days testing in Barcelona after it became clear there were issues with the new chassis E20-02.
The chassis is being sent back to Enstone for analysis and will be replaced by the E20-01 car tomorrow which topped the times for 2012 cars in Jerez.

Lotus HVM Racing were showing off their new 2012 spec Dallara DW12 in Baltimore last week. After the launch the Number 78 car of Simona de Silvestro, painted in a green and yellow livery similar to last years Lotus backed KV Racing team, took to the streets of Baltimore for a pit stop.
Lotus HVM Racing are one of 3 teams which will be running Lotus Twin Turbo V6 engines for the 2012 season.
Good news if you’re in the market for a second hand Evora, as for what we believe is the first time one is being advertised below the £30,000 mark.
The car, liveried in the style of the Esprit used in the Bond film “For Your Eyes Only”, was used by Lotus for promotional activities in the French Alps and comes fully loaded with the Premium, Tech and Sports Packs along with many other desirable options including the Close Ratio Gearbox, and has just over 13,000 miles on the clock.

Lotus Cars have updated their Exige S mini-site with a new video featuring Design Director Donato Coco talking through the styling changes for the MY12 Exige S, while Matt Becker talks about some of the technical changes to the compared to the previous generation Exige.

LoTRDC get ready for busy 2012 season
Lotus on Track Racing Drivers Club launched their 2012 season at the MotorSport Vision Racing Media Day yesterday (Tuesday), which will see continued expansion in their sixth year of racing. The Elise Trophy continues to provide some of the UK’s finest club racing, whilst Lotus Cup Europe visits some of the continent’s finest venues.
The biggest change for this season will be the addition of a new championship as Lotus Cup UK splits into Production and Supersport categories, the latter for the faster Exige Cup, 211 and Open classes. The Lotus Cup’s Evora class is renamed V6 Cup and opened up to include the many Evora variants and the imminent Exige V6 model. The power-to-weight regulations of these faster classes ensure that the championship is decided on driving ability and team strategy. Continue reading
