There may be another 3 rounds remaining of this years SELOC Speed Championship 2012, but today we’re pleased to announce that not only will the series be continuing for 2013, but that Nitron will be joining us as series sponsors for the ‘Nitron SELOC Speed Championship2013‘.
Along with helping ensure the series can continue in to it’s second year Nitron will also be supplying ‘Nitron SELOC Speed Championship’ decals to all series competitors and offering a set of Nitron NTR46 Track Day Pro dampers – worth £1,500 – for the series champion.
The new car is the centerpiece of a state-of-the-art store, which is spread over 4,800 sq. feet of floor space in a landmark building that once housed the famous Café Royal, just a short distance from Piccadilly Circus.

Following on from the take over of Lotus’s parent company Proton by DRB-Hicom, the dismissal of CEO Dany Bahar and that the Future Cars section, which featured the five ‘New Era’ models first shown at Paris in 2010, has been removed from from Lotus Cars website.
Despite news that DRB-Hicom are looking to cut costs and focus on profitable areas at Lotus does not necessarily mean that all of the ‘New Era’ cars have been cancelled. It would appear however that DRB-Hicom are extending the policy of not talking about Lotus products which are not yet available to order which saw the rumoured appearance of the Esprit at the Goodwood Festival of Speed cancelled.
It’s been a long wait, but it’s finally happened – the first production Lotus Exige S hit the production line today at Hethel ahead of customer deliveries in the coming months!
Good things come to those who wait. The first production Exige S chassis has just been loaded on to the assembly line in Factory 5, and in just over 2 weeks time the finished product will blast out of the factory.
The new ‘Cup’ versions of the V6-engined Exige S is set to be unveiled next month at the Lotus Festival, as part of Lotus Motorsports display at this years celebration to all things Lotus.
The first public viewing of the all new Lotus Exige V6 Cup and the Lotus Exige V6 Cup race car.
Lotus Motorsport will be displaying TWO fully spec’d Lotus Exige V6 Cup cars and will be on hand to explain the various options that the track day car and race version offer.
The Exige V6 Cup is aimed at those who want a purposeful cup car for track days whilst being road legal to provide maximum safety, fun and performance without the need for a trailer or team of mechanics. While the Cup car will also be available in full race specification allowing drivers to race in all Lotus Cup race series including Lotus Cup UK and Europe with a single specification for all drivers. The track car will also be fully upgradeable to race spec at a later date if required.
To help celebrate this launch owners of Exige Cup 190, 240, 260 cars are being offered a limited number of tickets for Sunday 19th and a special parking area, plus a parade lap of the circuit. For more details please email paul@lotrdc.com (tickets on a first come basis).

When forum member ‘sascha28’ wanted to freshen up his S1 interior he took inspiration from the latest Elise Club Racer models, stripping the tired old S1 seats back to the fibreglass, repainting them and getting them custom trimmed in coal black alcantara.
With matching sill pads and door cards we think he’s created one of the best looking interiors to grace an S1 Elise.
Lotus may not have made the podium in the F1 this weekend, but both Raikkonen and Grosjean scored solid points and kept the team in 3rd place in the constructors championship.
Elsewhere there were podiums in the GP2 and GP3, engine upgrades in the IndyCar and a tough weekend in the American Le Mans Series.
Lotus showed strong pace once again during the team’s home race at Silverstone, but difficulties on Saturday ultimately kept them off the podium. Continue reading →
