Event: LoTRDC Pre-season Get Together – March 2nd

IMG_0229Lotus on Track Racing Drivers Club are holding a pre-season get together at Brands Hatch on March 2nd ahead of the start of this years Elise Trophy, Lotus Cup UK and Lotus Cup Europe campaigns.

Many of the LoTRDC drivers will be taking to the Brands Hatch Indy circuit to blow away the winter cobwebs and shakedown their 2013 race cars.

There is plenty being put on for spectators as well, with passenger laps available, competitions to win some great prizes and discounted tickets for this years Lotus Festival all on offer.

Video – How To Drift A Lotus Exige

The lucky guys at Car Throttle have posted up a video of their trip up to Hethel where they had a go at drifting the Exige S out on track. It’s a little cheesy in places, but there are also some cool shots of the car being drifted (and spun) around.

SELOCFest 13 Tickets now on sale

Lotus Festival 2012 CampsiteTickets for SELOCFest ’13 at the Lotus Festival this coming August are now on sale.

The years Lotus Festival is once again being held at Brands Hatch between 23-25th August 2013, and as always they’ll be plenty on track action with the LoTRDC Elise Trophy and Lotus Cup series, Lotus Cortina racing, displays and demonstrations by Lotus Racing and Classic Team Lotus, Club Displays, a trade village and camp-site entertainment.

Tickets are priced at £30 per person, with free entry for under 12′s when accompanied by a paying adult. You can buy them now in the SELOC Shoppe and find out more in the SELOCFest ’13 at the Lotus Festival forum.

On the line with the Exige V6

3M4A1911It’s been no secret that 2012 was a tough year for Lotus, with the excitement and enthusiasm for the new Exige S tempered by the take-over of Proton by DRB-Hicom and the delays and uncertainty that followed.

It’s with this in mind that we made the trip up to Hethel to take a look how production of the cars is going and answer some of the questions and queries.

Owners Review – Lotus Elise S

Ephesus Elise SWe had plenty positive to say when we drove the Elise S last year, it’s combination of power and lower emissions making it a great replacement for the previous Elise SC.

But it’s one thing to enjoy a car you’ve been lent for a few hours and quite another to put the money down and buy one. Fortunately last year SELOC member ‘Ephesus‘ did just that, so we decided to ask him what inspired him to make the switch from Morgan to Lotus, and how he’s been getting on so far.

Lotus F1 Team unveil 2013 E21

The Lotus F1 Team E21Lotus F1 Team were the first team to launch their 2013 challenger as they unveiled the E21 this evening at their Enstone headquarters.

The E21 appears very much to be an evolution of last years E20 which saw the team take victory in Abu Dhabi along with a brace of podiums on the way the 4th in the constructors championship and 3rd in the drivers championship. It also retains the stepped nose, although the team did not rule out fitting a vanity panel as allowed in the 2013 regulations if it were to prove advantageous aerodynamically.

SELOCFest ’13 at the Lotus Festival
