Lotus F1 Team – Australian GP – Friday Practice

The new season officially got under way this morning with the first practice sessions in Australia.

Lotus F1 Team have showed promise in the opening sessions, reaching 4th and 5th in Free Practice 2 behind the Red Bulls and the Mercedes of Nico Rosberg, but much is still unknown at this early stage and the teams relative pace won’t be confirmed until qualifying on Saturday.

When we were offered the chance to drive the new Exige V6 on Lotus’ private test track we knew it was an opportunity too good to miss. We took along a track novice, a long term Elise owner and a race driver to see what people across a range of experience levels made of Lotus’ latest car.

LoTRDC – Lotus Cup Europe attains FIA International Series status

Lotus Cup Europe at DijonAhead of the new season starting next month, Lotus on Track Racing Drivers Club have announced that the Lotus Cup Europe has gained FIA International Series status.

Lotus Cup Europe will be run as a championship for the first time in 2013, when the season starts at Germany’s Nürburgring circuit in April. Sporting and technical  regulations have been approved by the FIA to give Lotus Cup Europe the status of FIA International Series, joining a list that includes GP2 and DTM. Continue reading →

Snows Group restarts plans to open Lotus Hedge End

Snows Hedge EndLast year Snows Group put plans to open a new Lotus dealership in Hedge End on hold, citing concerns around “uncertainty surrounding Lotus”. Now however the company has decided to press ahead with the opening of the new Lotus dealership near the south coast alongside it’s existing Toyota and Lexus franchises, with work starting towards the end of March. Exige S Delivery and Brochure updates

PENTAX DIGITAL CAMERAAfter our look at the Exige S in production at Hethel last month and an early customer delivery in January we’ve beginning to see the first real wave of UK customer cars arriving with dealers now – with Bell & Colvill and Murray Lotus both showing off their latest arrivals which are almost ready for collection by their lucky owners.

For those still undecided on the new Exige, Lotus have also at last released a full brochure for the car on Issuu, including more details on the on the Exige S Roadster and the differences between it and it’s Coupe counterpart.

Lotus Driving Academy re-introduce the Scare Yourself Sensible! experience

Lotus Driving AcademyWhen the Lotus Driving Academy re-organised their driving experience days a few years ago many bemoaned the loss of the basic half day ‘Scare Yourself Sensible!’ package.

The team have clearly listened as they’ve now re-launched the experience, which includes a track driving session, high-speed passenger laps and a factory tour.

The days are priced at £169 each, with a £30 discount for the first two dates at the end of March bringing them down to £139.
