Brothers Benji and Freddie Hetherington have teamed up with Maidstone Sports Cars for the remainder of 2013 to run their Honda powered Exige S1 alongside the teams existing car in the Lotus Cup UK series.
The pairing performed strongly in their second outing in the series at Silverstone, finishing 2nd in the Open class, and will no doubt be looking to challenge for both Class and Overall victories as the season progresses.

What do you do if you’re in Belgium and have a new, just run in, Exige S at your disposal? You take it around Spa of course!
SELOC member ‘jokke_vlo‘ had previously tried out the Exige V6 Cup R around the Hethel test track and now his own Exige S has been delivered he took it out for its first run around the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit. He’s asked us to remind you that this was his first time out on track in the car and he can go quicker, but we still think it’s pretty impressive!

It was a packed grid at Silverstone when Lotus Cup UK and the Elise Trophy combined for an hour long race around the full GP circuit.
After a long battle it was Andrew Bentley who took overall victory in the Evora GTN ahead of the 2-Eleven of Marcus Jewell, while in the Production class it was Adam Gore who took came out on top.

A thrilling battle for the lead of the second round of the 2013 Lotus Cup UK Championship was fought between the Evora of Andrew Bentley and Marcus Jewell’s 2-Eleven, with the former taking the honours on the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit. It was a great weekend for the V6 powered cars in the opening round of this years Lotus Cup Europe on the Nurburgring GP circuit, with Greg Rasse winning Race 1 in his Evora GT4 and Jon Walker repeating his Lotus Cup UK performance taking the Exige V6 Cup R to victory in Race 2.

It was a repeat of last years result for the Lotus F1 Team in Bahrain today, with a double podium seeing the team move up to second in the constructors championship.
Raikkonen was one of the few drivers to run a two stop strategy and was able to make up for a poor qualifying and start to the race to come through to second at the finish.
Grosjean started the race from 11th on the harder tyres and drove a more traditional 3-stop race, fighting his way through the field without incident and passing Di Resta in the closing stages to take the final podium place.

Lotus are currently showing their range-extender hybrid version of the Evora, the 414e, at the SAE World Congress show in Detroit and have picked the AEI SAE 2013 Tech Award.
Although not currently destined for production the Evora 414E Hybrid concept is used as a test bed and showcase for a wide range of Lotus Engineering developed technologies.

Lotus Originals have launched the first of their range of replica Lotus F1 Team wear for 2013, and are offering an introductory 10% discount to celebrate Kimi Raikkonen’s podium finish in the Chinese GP at the weekend.
You can buy from the Lotus Originals range online now, but on April 24th between 4-7pm Team Principle Eric Bouillier and one of the Lotus F1 Team drivers are making an appearance at the companies Regent Street store to draw the winners of The Perfect Formula competition run by the store throughout March, along with photo opportunities and signatures for Lotus fans. In the last year we’ve had the chance drive the new Exige S both on road and track, but when lucky forum member Andrew Swift (chevronb37) was offered a chance to try the car for 24 hours we couldn’t wait to hear what it was like to use in the real world….
