Brothers Benji and Freddie Hetherington have teamed up with Maidstone Sports Cars for the remainder of 2013 to run their Honda powered Exige S1 alongside the teams existing car in the Lotus Cup UK series.
The pairing performed strongly in their second outing in the series at Silverstone, finishing 2nd in the Open class, and will no doubt be looking to challenge for both Class and Overall victories as the season progresses.

Maidstone Sports Cars are delighted to announce that they will be supporting British GT superstars, Benji & Freddie Hetherington, in their Honda powered Lotus Exige S1 in the Lotus Cup UK Supersport Championship for the remainder of the 2013 season.
Team principal, Andrew Marsh of Maidstone Sports Cars, who were regular race winners in the 2012 season of Cup UK in their own built Honda powered Lotus Exige S1, had to say “Having the Hetherington’s on board is great for us, as Freddie & Benji should really be able to show the car’s race winning potential!”
The Hetherington Exige has been at Team MSC headquarters for the past few weeks, being developed and prepared for the forthcoming rounds.
The Hetheringtons explain “We chose MSC because of their reputation and demonstrable race winning performance, once they had re-engineered the car it ran faultlessly for the Silverstone weekend and the test before-hand. We work with some of the top teams in the UK and the MSC/Lotus combination certainly met our expectations”
MSC race technician Adrian Hall will continue to drive the white Team MSC race car as a solo driver, with senior race technician Julian Brunger looking after the development of both teams and cars.
Julian explains “having two highly competitive cars to manage will be a big task, but we’re certain that Team MSC is up to the challenge.”
With their success at the last race with a 2nd in class, the Hetherington Exige is definitely in contention for big points in this year’s championship.
The next round of Lotus Cup UK is at Brands Hatch on 17th – 19th May 2013, for more information on Lotus Cup UK, please visit www.lotrdc.com/lotuscupuk
